Associate Professor Jill Sewell is a senior paediatrician in the Centre for Community Child Health and Clinical Director of the Children’s Bioethics Centre at the Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH). She has over 30 years’ experience as a specialist in developmental and behavioural paediatrics. Her interests include clinical bioethics, early childhood development, training in community paediatrics, medical education, medical regulation and health service delivery.
Associate Professor Sewell is Chair of the Victorian Clinical Council, and President of the Australian Medical Council. She was the inaugural co clinical lead of the Victorian Paediatric Clinical Network for five years, and spent nine years on the board of Alfred Health. She was President of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians 2004-2006 and President of the Paediatrics and Child Health Division 1998-2002.
In 2005 Associate Professor Sewell was made a Member of the Order of Australia for services to child health.Back to speakers
