Professor Christopher Poulos
Professor Christopher Poulos is a Fellow of the AFRM and served as Faculty President from 2012 – 2014. He is Conjoint Professor in the School of Public Health and Community Medicine at the University of NSW, and Visiting Professorial Fellow at the Australian Health Services Research Institute, University of Wollongong. In his current role as Head of Research and Aged Care Clinical Services for rehabilitation and aged care service provider HammondCare, he has led the development of community-based rehabilitation and restorative care programs for older people.
His clinical and research interests include ambulatory rehabilitation, restorative care and reablement programs, the use of the arts to promote health and wellbeing, the wellness needs of carers of people living with dementia, and rehabilitation and aged care service delivery. Throughout his career Chris has been active on hospital and government committees exploring health system funding and service model improvements and innovation. He has a master’s degree in health policy and management, and was awarded his PhD in 2012.More information soon
