Dr Michael McDowell
Dr Michael McDowell is a Paediatrician specialising in child development and
behavioural disorders. He was the Foundation President of the Neurodevelopmental and Behavioural Paediatric Society of Australasia, and continues to take an active role both in this society, and he profession more generally.
Dr McDowell has an Associate Professor appointment at the University of
Queensland. His medical and paediatric training was in Sydney. He undertook further training at the Children’s Hospital, Boston, USA, where he also competed an MPH at Harvard. He is a Churchill Fellow and has completed a PhD at the University of Queensland.
Until recently, Dr McDowell worked at the Child Development Network, a private
multidisciplinary service for children based in Brisbane, Australia. He has since
moved to Sydney, and is currently exploring new options for professional practice.
