Associate Professor Gautam Vaddadi
Gautam is an Associate Professor of Medicine (University of Notre Dame,
Sydney), Head of the Heart Failure Service at Northern Health (Victoria) and
Director of Cardiac Services at Cabrini Health. He is a general cardiologist
with particular interest in heart failure, echocardiography and bridging the
divide between hospitals and primary care. Gautam graduated from University
of Melbourne in 1999 and completed advanced training in cardiology, heart
failure and transplant medicine at The Alfred Hospital in 2005.
He completed his PhD at the BakerIDI Heart and Diabetes Institute and
Monash University in 2009 investigating the pathophysiology of syncope and
autonomic dysfunction. He has published many peer reviewed articles and
was the winner of the Ralph Reader Prize at Cardiac Society of Australia and
New Zealand in 2008. Gautam’s ongoing research interests include improving
systems of care for chronic cardiovascular disease and he is actively involved
in heart failure clinical trials.
