Dr Benjamin Cailes (VIC)
Impaired cardiac reserve on dobutamine stress echocardiography predicts development of hepatorenal syndrome
Dr Ben Cailes is a basic physician trainee at the Austin Hospital with aspirations to specialise in the field of cardiology. He has a keen interest in research and to date has been involved in the publication of six peer-reviewed articles including three as a first author. Dr Cailes has presented at multiple international conferences including the European Society of Cardiology Congress last year. He is the winner of the Victorian RACP trainee prize and is presenting research conducted with the Austin Hospital’s Cardiology and Gastroenterology departments that has recently been published in the American Journal of Gastroenterology and was featured in the New England Journal of Medicine Journal Watch as a practice changing study.
