Dr Martin London
Dr Martin London qualified MB.ChB. in Bristol in 1977 and came to New Zealand in 1981 gaining Dip. Obst (1983) and FRNZCGP (1990 and ‘Distinguished’ 2013). Since 1983 he has worked with Rural Practice – initially for ten years at Akaroa, then opening the Christchurch Centre for Rural Health in 1994, while doing ‘time inside’ in suburban practice. In 2005 he ‘escaped’ to work as a salaried Rural GP in South Westland (and develop ten hectares with cattle and hazel nuts). Since resigning from South Westland in 2015, he has continued as a peripatetic Rural GP Locum.
Martin initiated the NZ Rural GP Network in 1992 and was a board member until 2017. From 2015 to 2018 he worked as Medical Director and later as Chair of the Rural Health Alliance Aotearoa NZ.
Martin now lives in Christchurch with his wife Karol and together they are developing six hectares of land in Little River with fruit and nut trees.More information soon
