Dr Robyn Toomath

Dr Robyn Toomath trained as an endocrinologist and while president of the NZ Society for the Study of Diabetes determined that she needed to divert her energies from treating diabetes to preventing obesity. She co- founded the activist group FOE (Fight the Obesity Epidemic) in 2001. Her book “Fat Science, Exercise and Diets Don’t Work – And What Does” was published by Auckland University Press in 2016.  Robyn is clinical director of General Medicine, Auckland Hospital and President of the Internal Medicine Society of Australia and New Zealand (IMSANZ).
