Dr Sam Brophy-Williams (WA)
Tertiary staff utilisation of interpreters for families with limited English proficiency.
Dr Sam Brophy-Williams is in the final throes of his general paediatric training, which has taken him from Perth to Boston, Sydney, Darwin, Afghanistan, Timor Leste and back to Perth. This circuitous route has afforded him exposure to a broad range of paediatric clinical care settings, and a broad range of kids and families lives. Dr Brophy-Williams global health interests are powered by a firm belief in equity and in health care as a human right, and are focussed on bringing to bear the knowledge and resources available to effect change for the most vulnerable children. His current clinical work is in infectious diseases at Perth Children’s Hospital, with research commitments at Telethon Kids Institute in the area of Rheumatic Heart Disease.
