Professor Clara Chow
Dr Clara Chow is Professor of Faculty of Medicine and Health, Westmead and cardiologist at Westmead. She is Academic Director of the Westmead Applied Research Centre (WARC) and Program Director Community Based Cardiac Services and Cardiologist at Westmead hospital.
Dr Chow is appointed as the CPC (Charles Perkins Centre) Westmead Academic Co-Director. Currently she is President-Elect of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand and Co-Chair of the Secondary Prevention Alliance in Australia.
Dr Chow has a PhD from the University of Sydney, Australia in cardiovascular epidemiology and international public health and a post doctorate from McMaster University, Canada in clinical trials and cardiac imaging. She is a National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC)/ National Heart Foundation Career Development Fellow. The main focus of her research is in simple and scalable approaches to cardiovascular disease prevention.

Gender equity in medicine
Designed to have an open discussion around the challenges facing gender equity in female and male professionals. There is much debate about the disparity between genders within the workplace and this session will provide a safe place for open discussion on the challenges facing today's society, as well as highlighting the positive changes being made and what the future could look like in an equitable working environment.
