Professor Stuart Dalziel
Professor Stuart Dalziel is a paediatrician with sub-specialty training in paediatric emergency medicine. He is the Professor of Emergency Medicine and Paediatrics at the University of Auckland, and Director of Emergency Medicine Research at Starship Children’s Hospital where he works clinically as a Paediatric Emergency Medicine Physician.
Stuart received his undergraduate training from the University of Otago, with postgraduate training in paediatrics in both New Zealand and United Kingdom, culminating with a Fellowship at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London. Stuart has a PhD in epidemiology from the University of Auckland and is involved in both local and international emergency medicine research groups.
Stuart is the past chair of the Paediatric Research in Emergency Departments International Collaborative (PREDICT, Australasia’s paediatric emergency medicine research network) and holder of numerous research grants from the Health Research Council (HRC) in New Zealand and the National Health & Medical Research Council (NHMRC) in Australia. Stuart is the current chair of the Pediatric Emergency Research Network (PERN), a collaboration of the six major international paediatric emergency medicine research networks. His research interests are focused around acute paediatric presentations, specifically respiratory and neurological presentations, as well as long-term effects of perinatal/early life treatments.More information soon
